Project: Category Landing Pages Template
Working for an LED lighting company that specializes in anything from car bulbs to commercial high-bay lights meant I viewed each category as a separate entity and designed accordingly. Every category of product warranted a unique approach but it was possible to template out a general look and then target categories over time for improvement.

2015
The category landing pages in 2015. Sub-category descriptions were overwhelmingly long and aimed to fit in as many keywords as possible.
2017 to 2020
Trying to break the habit of superfluous text and cluttered collage images, I presented various mock-ups from the beginning attempting to illustrate that less is more. Ultimately the third mock-up pulled ahead and after a few more iterations of that we resulted in our current site-wide landing page template.
SEO Rich Text
Placing SEO rich text at the bottom of the page is not uncommon on e-commerce websites. Rather than clutter the page by placing this valuable text below each image, the decision was made to give it bottom placement. This resulted in a cleaner design and still allows Google and other search engines to do their jobs.
